Yep, Kinski was underrated -- if a bit Mad, to be sure. ;) I could never be confident whether his insane, public Rants were an Act or a Cry for Help. I discovered the work of Werner Herzog thru pursuing Kinski, via FF$M. Herzog's MY BEST FIEND (a tribute/memoir of working with Kinski) is a must-see, imho.

Too true, re: John Philip Law in DEATH RIDES A HORSE. But for some reason, I could ignore JPL's wooden acting better than I ignore TLB's frantic behavior in MF+CT.
