Oh well, I did not mean to blame anybody for anything, I can also understand that people turn to drink with all the problems you mentioned, and a certain stereotype about having to be a real man and no counselling around as there would be today. But that still does not mean that I could put up with it and watching people going downhill can be quite painful, too. Maybe the painting you mentioned also points to some inner turmoil. Being overprotective or wishing to be extremely close also might fit in the picture. But of course all of this is nothing but surmise.

You are right about being curious, I know the feeling. But in the end I also think it is good to respect private lives and not to go overboard with assumptions. It probably just was a roundabout way of saying "I do not know the answers to your questions...".

I am more like 40 years age difference (hah! There you are!) so he would be my parent's generation, or even one farther removed.

If you haven't watched all the movies - that is of course perfectly fine! There are a lot of TV shows around I haven't seen yet as I only get the chance when they pop up on TV, and there actually are a few movies I have not watched, either. So there always is something to look forward to and above all there are new impressions to share!

I am glad you liked Beyond the Law, I also enjoy it a lot, a lot of unwashed and cheerful characters and I also like the unusual twists of the plot and the way the plot puts cunning above violence.

I have been hooked many years ago, when friends wanted me to join the ranks of Eastwood fans. We watched The Good, the Bad and The Ugly together and I fell - as it was - for the wrong man (and still have not converted to Eastwood, but Tuco is brilliant!). What did get you hooked?

It's true that in LVC's time, it was easier to have some privacy and no, we will never know their private lives. I suppose it's none of my business, either, but natural curiosity gets the best of me... more

I'm so glad you mentioned Tuco! I have always said that Eli Wallach stole that movie and should have had an Academy Award. He was brilliant, funny, awful, and fantastic all in one. All my friends... more

There have been discussions going on about the Walk of fame, you might be able to find them in the archives of the board. I dimly remember that there was a consensus that dishing out $40.000 is a bit ... more
