You are so right about athe role of Tuco being the most creative role. And Eli Wallach just seemed to know exadtly what to do with it. And oh, Douglas Mortimer! The Colonel had such an air of authority that scarcely anyone would argue with him. He certainly wasn't a bounty hunter (or bounty killer as they said in the movie) type. Klaus Kinski was so good at being awful and ugly - the twitches as he decided what to do with Col. Mortimer after he lit his match on Kinski's back hump! So hard to believe he fathered Nastasia! Another actor who did an excellent job was Gian Maria Volonte - Indio himself. What a degenerate! Indio had absolutely no morals, no humanity. I could have sworn he was smoking marijuana in the scene in the old church. When he squashed the bug on the wooden table, I almost lost my lunch.

The other thing that attracted me to Spaghettti Westerns was the grit and dirt. The old West was not a clean and prissy place, and the Italians had it down exactly right.

Do you still live in Europe? I'm in Western Pennsylvania - born here and I love it. I lived for 20 years in the San Francisco Bay Area, but this is home.

Note to DCG: I'm trying like all get-out to find that photo of the woman with the LVC tattoo on her back, but I'm not having much luck. that's the thing I hate about Facebook - here today, gone tomorrow. Her name was Susan Wallace and I've found her page, but no photo. I'll keep looking.
