it is unlikely that Islam will be more than influential in Europe, let alone dominant. Part of that fear is racist, like fear of Hispanics here ... the White people will gradually fail to reproduce, and the percentage of non-White will ever increase. Well at least in the US, that is to the good, I have no fear of Hispanics ... they will be at least no worse citizens of the US than have the Anglos, who really have been quite disappointing.

And yes, it is unlikely there will be a Caliphate, aside from Saudi influence in many Muslim communities. Islam messed up by allowing conversion of non-Arabs, and putting Arab believers well outside their natural range (particularly N or E of the Fertile Crescent) where they would get assimilated by the more numerous neighbors. Even W of Egypt, among the Berbers, there are centrifugal tendencies once Berbers realized that Arabs were willing to enslave them as much as any other Black African. As far as Pakistan being the new Caliphate, that is as far away now as the original attempt in the 1920s ... Pakistan can't even agree on a common language ... they would require a modern version of the Mughal armies to impose order, and India and China would simply annihilate them.

Mostly the current Atheist push against Islam is three fold, it is current, it is Eurocentric, and Muslims are the new Jews.

Shalom
