Re: Jesus regarding divinity and legality

What comes to mind after reading what you put.

I do not mean you I mean the ancients.

O, what a tangled web we weave when first we practise to deceive

"I happen to agree with this Jesus quote, and the Psalm it is quoting from. Are you saying that only rabbinic Judaism is Jewish?"

Not at all. I am not well verse enough to say such a thing.

FMPOV, as a Gnostic Christian, the only Jewish tradition I respect is Karaite Jewry as they put people ahead of God.

I also agree with Jesus as he sounds Karaite and just wanted to read the law he was talking about.

If I read you right, there was tradition but no written law and my question of who the "I" represented is answered and seems to be whoever is speaking.

I have to put that quote then with Gnostic Christian sayings as it does not fit Christianity or Jewry but might be said by a Karaite Jew.

You might be right, and yes, I like to hear of people that interpret things in the way they want or see things their way. That is the Gnostic Christian way to some extent. We tend not to reject... more

Is Gnosticism equal to egotism? That would depend on who is doing the judging. I would say no unless you think the same of Jesus. I like to think it is more like us stepping up to what Jesus... more
