Dear Christine,

Did you talk to your doctor yet?
How much are you doing at work everyday? Are you already working a full day everyday? You may need more rest and fun social distractions from your real concerns in the morning. I have occasional sharp pains in my head upon waking sometimes, especially around my left eye. I just learned to ignore them after a while, especially since I got no sympathy what so ever from my doc or my hubby. We are all getting older and everyone of us have more aches and pains as we get older....
And I have numbness in my lower right arm on occasion in the morning if I sleep on it the wrong way and I don't remember that ever happening to me before brain surgery, until post op.
Its probably a sign of poor circulation if you slept on it. The only remedy I know sounds silly to fix your lower arm wave it around, exercise your arm vigorously, shake it around until the blood is flowing freely again to your extremities, especially wiggle your fingers and your toes when you get up. Get up and get moving.

I think my own mindset was fearful and super cautious post op and I was very focused on wanting everything to get back to normal but normal wasn't going to be the same as before, I had to learn to find my own "new normal"
I have to tell you, right after I read your post about pain and numbness I felt I had to immediately go find something sweet to eat myself since I also remembered waking up with sharp stabbing eye pain myself sometimes post op. I needed something sweet to compensate for your pain before I could even begin to give you a written reply. I found some refrigerated 10 minute cinnamon buns to pop in the oven and drizzled the white frosting on them, they usually make me feel much better. lol so please try to find nice ways to distract yourself from the pain and before you know it, its gone.

Just saying, distracting myself, Thats what works best for me and my pains these days. Please get a copy of the STOMP guide to pain management, stomping around is one way to cope too. I sent a link to this list a while ago. It has some other good ideas for coping with pain instead of more drugs that may have more side effects. Keep it simple sweetie = KISS
And I'm sending my warm fuzzy cyberhugs hoping things do get better for you.

hugs from your dear meningimate GBYAY Anne Breen
