William MountIN A WORLD GONE MAD PATCH ADAMS MAKES PERFECT SENSEWed Oct 24, 2012 04:2322.214.171.124In a world gone mad Patch Adams makes perfect sense.
As you recall, the movie Patch Adams shows Robin Williams as a Medical Student who uses Humor - a red nose - to bring a "Personal Touch" back to medicine.
Where the movie let off Patch has continues.
For 41 years Patch has been clowning around, traveling from country to country spreading good will among the people and adding a bit of Humor to the medical field.
After watching children die for 13 years in cancer wards he decided to change the entire medical community.
(See: THE CURE FOR CANCER UPDATE 3)
We all know that we are born, live and then are assigned to die - but why do we have to spend the last bit of our lives dealing with cold, humorless Nurses and Doctors.
One very important thing he has developed throughout the world is that if Doctors and Nurses are happy and spread this happiness to their patients survival rates sky rocket.
Ever since I met him he has also been involved in completely rebuilding Clinics and even towns. After Haiti was destroyed he led his team countless times into this nation and has rebuilt town after town.
At 69 years old he leads the Gesuntheit Institute in West Virgina.
His new dream is now coming true thanks to donors from readers right here on APFN.
Patch's Book "Gesundheit!" has brought tears to my eyes when I was really down.
You might see him organizing Dreamers, of in a town lifting bricks, or leading a seminar teaching doctors how to approach patients so they will really say what they need.
One thing is for sure - at 69 years old he IS making a difference in the world, so are his volunteers who live on his 40 acre organic farm. Some of these folks are crippled, yet they can assist in paper work, phone calls --- OK , maybe they cannot do more than 1 or 2 hours a day, but they are making a difference in the world.
I would love to see his hospital finished, At this point all he needs is the equipment, so he waits for donations to finish his Free Clinic in West Virginia, where a person can come in with cancer and leave with the cure, or be treated for any other ailment for that matter.
Two Item he could use very much are: Ed Skilling's Photon Genius ($16,000)and a Portable Hyperbaric Chamber with an Oxygen Generator ($25,000). So if you know where he can get one for free he would sure appreciate it.
Patch - I wish you well in your latest adventure to rebuild a clinic. This time the trip is to Russia: 3-17 November.
We may not be able to stop the English from enraging the Russians, but Patch can let the people know that we the People of the united states of America DO NOT support these insane wars carried out by the United States Corporation.
In fact, when a survey was taken several years ago here in America more people wanted Vladimir Putin as their President than Barack Obama or John McCain. That shows you the kind of respect America has for the Russian People.
Patch - we wish you the best. You trip could not be more timely.
An Ambassador of Good Will, Patch Adams, MD.
From the bottom of my heart - thank you for believing in me when no one else would. You still have so much to teach me.
