How Will Concerned People Prepare for the Shemitah Cycle?
Sun Aug 23, 2015 15:37

How Will Concerned People Prepare for the Beginning of Shemitah Cycle? - The Beginning of the Shemitah Cycle - - - - - 100 Year Shmita Cycle - God's calendar (opposite) intersects with two of our Gregorian years. It is wise for us to attune our hearts with the times and feast dates that have been set down by God. In this way we gain understanding about current and future events.

God commands rest on the seventh day - Sabbath. This rest also applies to the cycles of weeks and years...the cycle of seven weeks (7x7) points to the 50th day - Pentecost. The cycle of seven sets of seven years (7x7 Shmita years) points to the 50th year - Jubilee.

The year of Jubilee is based on letting the land rest every 7th year, known as the Shmita year. During this year God commands rest for both the farmer and the land..."But the seventh year thou shall let it rest and lie still." Exodus 23:11. Israel has two calendars; religious and civil.

The Shmita is based on the civil calendar which always begins on the Feast of Trumpets in the month of Tishri (September). The Shmita is like a two edged sword. To the nation that upholds the ways of God it comes as a blessing. To the nation that turns its back on God the Shmita comes in the sign of judgment.

The impact of the Shmita is the wiping away of that which has been built up. A Shmita reminds a nation that it's blessings and power come only from God - without them they must eventually fall.

Towers symbolize a nation's power and pride...this connection can be seen from the very first tower; "Come, let us build ourselves a city, and a tower whose top is in the heavens; let us make a name for ourselves..." Genesis 11:4. The prideful building of the Tower of Babel brought judgment. - - America is the most powerful nation in the history of the world. On April 30, 1789 George Washington prophetically declared that should America turn away from God, His blessings will be removed.

The Shmita (judgment) and America converged on September 11, 2001 when the towers fell. The World Trade Centre was conceived in the Shmita of 1945, begun in the Shmita of 1966, was dedicated in the Shmita of 1973 and destroyed in the Shmita of 2001.

This was a warning from God to come back to Him but the leaders of America quoted Isaiah 9:10 in defiance. "...Who say in pride and arrogance of heart: The bricks have fallen down, but we will rebuild with hewn stones." When ancient Israel uttered these prideful words God brought judgment upon the land and that which was built up was wiped away. The new tower raised up from Ground Zero has a 40,000 pound "hewn" foundation stone. So, at the climax of the 2001 Shmita came two falls; a colossal collapse in Wall Street and the most physical collapse in American history as the two towers came crashing down to earth.

Shmita years are behind the rise and fall of America. If the rise of a tower foreshadowed the rise of America, what does the fall of a tower foreshadow?

Let's take a look at the incredibly accurate timing of the Shmita Year as it impacts modern history in the realm of finances, economies and empires:
1901-1902 Shmita Year - 46% U.S. Stock market value wiped out.
1916-1917 Shmita Year - 40% U.S. Stock market value wiped out. German, Austro-Hungarian, Russian and Ottoman Empires collapsed. Britain, the world's greatest empire was almost bankrupt. The beginning of American to rise to world power. All during this one Shmita year.
1930-1931 Shmita Year - 86% U.S stock market value wiped out in the worst financial crisis in modern history.
1937-1938 Shmita Year - 50% U.S. Stock market value wiped out. Global recession.
1944-1945 Shmita Year - End of German Reich and Britain's hold on territories. Establishment of America as the world's super power.
1965-1966 Shmita Year - 23% stock market value wiped out.
1972-1973 Shmita Year - 48% U.S. Stock market value wiped out. Global recession. U.S. Voted to kill its unborn children (Abortion legalized). U.S. lost its first war - Vietnam...
1979-1980 Shmita Year - U.S. and global recession.
1986-1987 Shmita Year - 33% U.S. Stock market value wiped out.
1993-1994 Shmita Year - Bond market crash.
2000-2001 Shmita Year - 37% U.S. stock market value wiped out. 9/11 and Global recession.
2007-2008 Shmita Year - 50% U.S. Stock market value wiped out. Global recession.
2014-2015 Shmita Year - Same pattern but very severe judgment coming (See 7x7 Shmita Harbingers)

The current Shmita Year, September 25, 2014 - September 13, 2015 is the 7th and last Shmita year in this cycle then follows the 50th year, Jubilee...year of liberation (Rapture). From the above facts... one can see the systematic pattern of the Shmita Year woven into the recent history of today's society. Buckle up, we're in for a rough ride in the days ahead.

As the world waits to see what the end of a seven-year biblical cycle known as the Shemitah may bring this fall, New York Times best-selling author Rabbi Jonathan Cahn issued a warning to prepare for economic calamity, war in the Middle East or even worse.

"I will state a warning which I have stated before," Cahn told hundreds of people gathered at the Prophecy in the News conference in Orlando, Florida, this weekend. "Whether it comes in this time parameter of the Shemitah or the year following or not, I believe a great shaking is going to come to this land and to the world that will involve the collapsing of the American economy ... and the removal of its blessings and prosperity.

"Whether it begins with the economic realm or not, I believe it's going to be bigger than the economic realm and it may have the effect of famine or cutting off infrastructure for a time. The shaking doesn't have to take place in the Shemitah (year), but I believe we need to be ready."

Cahn's warning has to do with what is known as the biblical Shemitah, or the Sabbath Year. During this year, according to Exodus and Leviticus, there was to be no working of the land. The last day of the Shemitah, Elul 29, is considered the "wipeout day" when all debts were "wiped clean." The Shemitah is meant to be a blessing, but when Israel turned away from God it became "a sign of judgment on a nation that has driven God out of its life."

In The Mystery of the Shemitah, Cahn described how this biblical pattern is connected to numerous events in modern history, including the rise of America to superpower status, World Wars I and II, the return of the Jewish people to their ancient homeland, the Six-Day War and even the rising of the World Trade Center.

He also noted a pattern of judgments at seven-year intervals in September 2001 and 2008 marked by the greatest crashes in Wall Street history, up to that time. The first occurred on Sept. 17, 2001, just a few days after the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, and the second occurred on Sept. 29, 2008. Both occurred on the biblical day of Elul 29, the very day appointed to wipe out the financial accounts of a nation. The next one occurs on Sept. 13.

"For years, financial observers have been mystified why it is that all the greatest crashes tend to take place the same time of year," Cahn says. "When is it? September to October. What if we take the greatest crashes in history. Do any of them take place at the end of the seven-year cycle of the Shemitah at the time of the wipeout and the answer is, 'Yes.' Every single one of them does. And the thing is the phenomenon is increasing. It's intensifying."

While the current Shemitah runs from September 2014 through this September, Cahn told the audience that the "Super Shemitah"—or the year of Jubilee, the year at the end of seven cycles of the Shemitah—begins this September and runs through September 2016.

"What people don't realize is one of the missing keys of end-times prophecy is the Shemitah," says Cahn, author of The Harbinger, which has sold more than 2 million copies. "What's the end of end-times prophecy? The Tribulation. How long is the Tribulation period? Seven years. It's a cycle of Shemitahs that goes back to Daniel's 70 sevens, which is linked to the Shemitah and linked to the judgment of Israel and the 70 years of judgment. Every seventh year is a Shemitah, but every seventh Shemitah is a Super-Shemitah, which we call the Jubilee ... ."

Despite these patterns, though, Cahn says God is in no way bound by the cycle.

"Now nothing has to happen, but if it follows the course of most times when people predict things like this they're wrong, but if it follows the course here's what would happen. According to the pattern, each time it happens, there is war in the Middle East. No. 2, there is a major war focused on Israel—World War I and the 1967 Six-Day War. No. 3, that war results in an end-times restoration of the next step of end-times prophecy."

In the book of Genesis, the Shemitah began with the Pharoah's prophetic dream of 14 cows—seven healthy and seven sick. God revealed to Joseph that the seven healthy cows represented seven years of prosperity, while the sick were the seven years of famine to follow.

"God gives a warning to Egypt to tell them what is coming," Cahn says. "The turning point is that seventh cow."

During his talk, Cahn pointed to a sign with biblical roots that went viral on newswires Sept. 25, 2014—the very day the world entered the current Shemitah: a cow with the number seven on its head. - -
"The pattern of the Shemitah is ... it begins so undramatic you barely notice it," Cahn says.

Here are the signs that Cahn revealed about the beginning of the Shemitah last year, on or around Sept. 25.

The stock markets became violent and started crashing for about a month -
A massive earthquake shook parts of America -
The manifestations of Ebola - -
The Supreme Court was tackling the issue of gay marriage on a national scale - -
China overtakes the U.S. as the No. 1 economic power -
Russia takes the title of strongest military power away from America - -

"This is the beginning of the ending of the American Age," Cahn says. "We are seeing things we have never seen in human history."

Could this be the beginning of the end of the ages—not just America?

"It is no accident. The Bible says woe to those who call evil good and good evil. It is no accident that at the same time the nation is calling evil good, it's calling good—like you, like believers—evil. What's happening now is you're hearing more and more of Christians being persecuted for simply trying to stay true to their faith. Everything is coming to a head."

The next "Shemitah" or "Biblical Sabbatical Year" runs from:
September 25, 2014 until… September 13, 2015.

While many assume when God created the Sun and the Moon that He did so for light, heat, gravity, and other natural mechanisms, when looking at Genesis 1:14, we learn of four other purposes behind why the lights in the heavens were created and placed where they are.

The Bible says these are for "signs," "seasons," "days," and "years." The Hebrew word for "signs" in this context is owth, a word meaning a "miraculous sign," "omen," or "warning." It signifies, among other things, that God created the heavenly bodies to communicate important matters at particular times to His covenant people. The next reason God created the sun and the moon is for "seasons." Again, in our Western mindset, we figure God is talking about… winter, spring, summer, and autumn (fall).

This is the farthest from the truth. In Hebrew, the word here is "mow’ed" and is accurately translated as "an appointed time" or "divine appointment" especially related to "sacred seasons" or Feast days. This same Hebrew word is translated into English in Leviticus 23 as "feast" where it talks about the "Feasts of the Lord."

At first, these two words; "appointments" and "feasts" seem about as far apart as you can get. This is why one needs to keep the Hebrew language in perspective so as not to miss the deeper conveyances of this text. The word "mow’ed" implies that God has a "day timer" or "calendar" on which He keeps predetermined "appointments" with human history and that are connected with "His Feasts or Holy Days." God the Father knew the year, the month, the day, and the exact time His Son, Yeshua (Jesus) would die and how this event would be played out in fulfilment of the Levitical feasts of Israel.

Finally, God declares that the sun and the moon were created to determine "days and years." Obviously, this has nothing to do with our modern Gregorian calendar, which was created by a pagan Roman ruler and is based on the sun. The Muslim calendar is based on the moon. But the Biblical calendar… the one that God uses according to Genesis is based on the sun and the moon.

So when the Scripture refers to "days and years" in Genesis 1:14, it is pointing to "Biblical days and years" or "holy days" as well as Shemitah years and Jubilee years (every seventh year the land in Israel was to rest).

What is a Shemitah Year…? The Shemitah Year is the seventh year of the seven-year agricultural cycle mandated by the Torah for the Land of Israel and still observed in contemporary Judaism. When Moses received the Levitical law, God gave the commandment to rest on the seventh day… the Sabbath. Moses also applied thecycles of "seven" to weeks and years.

A cycle of seven weeks points to the 50th day, called Pentecost.
