Record high radiation levels thatís lethal even after brief exposure have been detected at a damaged reactor at the Fukushima power plant in Japan. Specialists also found a hole, likely caused by melted nuclear fuel.

Fukushima nuclear disaster
Radiation levels of up to 530 Sieverts per hour were detected inside an inactive Reactor 2 at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear complex damaged during the 2011 earthquake and tsunami catastrophe, Japanese media reported on Thursday citing the plant operator, Tokyo Electric Power Company (TEPCO).

A hole of no less than one square meter in size has also been discovered beneath the reactor's pressure vessel, TEPCO said. According to researchers, the apparent opening in the metal grating of one of three reactors that had melted down in 2011, is believed to be have been caused by melted nuclear fuel that fell through the vessel.

The iron scaffolding has a melting point of 1500 degrees, TEPCO said, explaining that there is a possibility the fuel debris has fallen onto it and burnt the hole. Such fuel debris have been discovered on equipment at the bottom of the pressure vessel just above the hole, it added.

The latest findings were released after a recent camera probe inside the reactor, TEPCO said. Using a remote-controlled camera fitted on a long pipe, scientists managed to get images of hard-to-reach places where residual nuclear material remained. The substance there is so toxic that even specially-made robots designed to probe the underwater depths beneath the power plant have previously crumbled and shut down.

However, TEPCO still plans to launch further more detailed assessments at the damaged nuclear facility with the help of self-propelled robots.

Now we know why those Japanese officials were crying who broke down on camera and told the real news, not the fake ones they were instructed to tell, when the plant had its first accident.

Why do you worry so much about the ocean life. It will have millions of years to recover. Worry about human life which is in danger to become extinct..

You can turn the tables : if ocean life dies off, human life will simply disappear

Bitch
Might things not be going exactly as planned but even better than planned?

Americans set to die out the majority of our population in only a few years from Hitachi-GE nuclear waste weap. And nothing has happened to stop it yet.

Easily could have been shut down years ago. Are we not aware yet this is a nuclear war that they are waging against us from Hitachi-GE?

Boron in the feed water and it will be shut down in 3 months.

Are we understanding they will not do that as long as they have the concession to issue our money in their private hands?

STRIKE THEM OUT!

Will Labor not take the concession to issue our money away from them and put it into the safe hands of a Labor Committee of the Whole?

Thank you.

As long as you kills us slowly, you're OK. Like - GMO, nuclear power plants, vaccines, pollution... those are all politically correct ways to kill. And they are more efficient too!

I don't know about the rest of you all but people are dropping like flies with cancer around me and the blue snow brings me no comfort. Clean energy? Humanity will look back on the nuclear energy with deep regrets.

Thi is being shared with the whole world as the poison continues at lethal levels... It is being detected on the West Coast of the United States... How long can this go on until people start literally falling in place for no apparent reason?

I'm surprised the rest of the world has not come to their rescue as leakage effects the whole planet.

Weren't offers stoically rejected by Tepco- as they minimised the 'incident'?...

Russians were the first to offer help with their Chernobil experience, yet Japanese refused it.

WW3 is on going. No matter what news vomits, preplanned war by NWO initiated at 9/11 by termites preemptive thermo nuclear melted down all steels of WTC. No matter all over in the world under radiation shower. Depleted uranium spreded in middle east , iraq/libya. Japanese must be happy by counter acting usa for hiroshima and nagasaki.
