[ RE-EVALUATION OF THE WTC 2 COLLAPSE ]

PREAMBLE : MY CLAIM ...

The jet fuel was ignited on impact. The office fires were small. Without explosives being used to demolish the steel framework of the buildings, the steel framework of the buildings would have remained standing and intact just as they appeared standing and intact for a whole hour after the impacts.

BASIC FACTS ABOUT WTC FRAMEWORK ...

There were 59 perimeter columns on each face of the towers, and one column on each corner bevel, making a total of 240 perimeter columns in each tower...
LINK: http://911research.wtc7.net/wtc/arch/perimeter.html

The cores were rectangular pillars with numerous large columns and girders, and the core measured 87 feet by 133 feet. Some of the core columns apparently had outside dimensions of 36 inches by 16 inches. Others had larger dimensions, measuring 52 inches by 22 inches. The core columns were oriented so that their longer dimensions were perpendicular to the core structures' longer, 133-foot-wide sides...
LINK: http://911research.wtc7.net/wtc/arch/core.html

The core of each tower was a rectangular area 87 by 135 feet (27 by 41 m), and contained 47 steel columns running from the bedrock to the top of the tower...
LINK: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Construction_of_the_World_Trade_Center

Each floor was connected to the 240 perimeter columns, and to the group of (interconnected) 47 core columns.

The following quote is from the following link...
LINK: http://www.sharpprintinginc.com/911/index.php?module=pagemaster&PAGE_user_op=view_page&PAGE_id=14&MMN_position=20

[[ Facts about the core:

1) Only the 24 outermost core columns directly support the inside part of all the flooring in the open office space area.

2) 20 of these 24 columns outermost core columns are the strongest columns in the entire building. These would be all columns in rows 500 and 1000, and columns 601, 608, 901 and 908.

3) The core seems to be made up of 2 very different parts, the outer core (the rectangular cross-braced outer region with cranes at each of it's corners) and the inner core (the part inside this rectangular region).

And now I’ll introduce another feature of the core columns:

Each core column consists of many box column sections, stacked end to end one on top of the other. Each box column section is about 36 feet long (will be verified later) and spans about 3
floors.

The elevations where each column section ends and a new one begins is the same for all core columns. Hence, fact #4:

4) There were discrete, well defined horizontal planes, roughly located every 36 feet, or 3 floors, all the way up the building, along which all the core column sections are welded together.

These evenly spaced horizontal connection planes can also be called "weld planes".

How do we know these weld planes exist? Well, NIST won’t help us out and neither will the plans. NIST is being very coy with it’s information.

We can actually see these weld planes in every one of the photos presented in this essay. The tops of each of the 47 core columns certainly seem to be at the same height in every picture in this essay and throughout the entire photo album entitled "Construction Photos". ]]

THE INSIGNIFICANCE OF THE BROKEN PERIMETER COLUMNS ? ...

When the perimeter columns were broken:
(a) Various video evidence indicates that only a certain amount of outer perimeter columns were broken.
(b) The only "extra weight" from the broken perimeter columns were above the breakage points on the columns;
(c) Each broken perimeter column was still "glued" vertically to the undamaged upper 13 floors, and were still cross-braced with horizontally bracing to other vertical perimeter columns;
(d) ****ALL 110 OF THE FLOORS**** were still attached to the approximately ****200 UNDAMAGED**** vertical perimeter columns.

THE INNER CORE COLUMNS ...

When the inner core columns were broken:
(a) ****ALL 110 OF THE FLOORS**** were still attached to both the broken and unbroken group of interconnected 47 inner core columns;
(b) It is not known if any inner core columns were broken.
(c) If any inner core columns broke, the upper broken columns were still braced to other undamaged vertical core columns.

PLANE DAMAGE ...

Did the wings of the aircraft damage any of the inner core beams, after going through the outer perimeter beams ?
How wide is the plane fuselage, and how many inner core beams did the fuselage damage after smashing through the outer core and perhaps being sliced by one of the building floors ?

The following diagram shows horizontal sections of the Twin Towers' perimeter columns. The leftmost figure shows a section of a column, its enveloping insulation, and the aluminum cladding with window frame conections. The left and middle figures show sections of a column near a tower's tops, where the steel was thinnest. The rightmost figure shows section of a column in the lower part of a tower, where the steel was much thicker.

The following image from the documentary "Up From Zero" shows the base of a core column, whose dimensions, minus the four flanges, are apparently 52 by 22 inches, with walls at least 5 inches thick.
