Joan, thank you for all the help and information you sent to my sister Robbi. As you know, she and her husband really wanted to be able to make it to NZ this year. I'm hoping for their sake they get to go someday soon, to re-trace the steps of our Dad.

Please know that we are grateful to you for your efforts in making this 70th anniversary celebration happen. I only wish that she could have attended. Give our regards to all the veterans and families who can make the trip, and also, to all of you New Zealanders who are honoring the US servicemen who served in your country during WWII.

On a related note, our Dad celebrated his 90th birthday on 13 May 2012. We are blessed he is still with us! While his information has yet to be posted on this website, he was at Tarawa, Saipan, Tinian, Okinawa, etc. and served 29 years in the USMC, through two tours in Vietnam. Still a Marine after all these years.

Thank you again, Joan. We will keep in touch. Looking forward to hearing how the celebration goes!

Lois
