Lt. Gen. William K. Jones says that - "Upon returning to New Zealand, the regiment moved into new camps which had been constructed at McKay's Crossing on the opposite side of the railroad tracks from the original 3d Battalion camp. These camps extended from McKay's Crossing to Paekakariki on the sea and beachside of the tracks."
He seems to be describing Camp Russell at McKays Crossing, but he never uses that name. Google maps has the 6th Marines at Camp McKay after Guadalcanal. See info below...
