I agree, Joseph, and I am also thankful that Jon put TOTW together. I came here early as well but life pulled me away for a number of years. I had a lot to catch up on. As for the Marines of WW2, I grew up with many of them and consider it an honor and a blessing. I recall very little if any talk of their experiences from them however which is why Tarawa on the Web was of such great interest to me. It is still a source of great information. I hope generations that follow will look to this and other sources in rememberance of all who served.

                What wire section was your father in? My father was the communication chief for H&S/2/8 during the Saipan and Tinian operations. They had wire and radio sections.
