Well said Tom. I hope the best for the future generations because history and appreciation of sacrifice are not their strong points. We would not be here but for those brave men 75 years ago.

I have the 2nd Marine Division "Follow Me" Magazines from the 50th Anniversary of Tarawa. Howard Frost did such a great job putting those together. It is funny but it seems like yesterday. Thank goodness the Marines documented their history so well. I study the Civil War and the reports are so conflicting. We have great resources that preserved our WWII history and this website is one of them.

              What wire section was your father in? My father was the communication chief for H&S/2/8 during the Saipan and Tinian operations. They had wire and radio sections.
