Our daughter, Jessica, is 19 yrs old. She has ASA. She received a liver transplant 11 yrs ago and it has been the best decision we made. She did have complications right after surgery and what should've been a 2 wk hospital stay turned into 2 months. Then she struggled with a bacterial infection for almost 6 months after going home. But once the doctors figured that out its been good, very good. She has never again been hospitalized for high ammonia. Before surgery there were more than 25 hospital stays. We live in San Antonio,Texas, USA. We are fortunate to have a very good teaching hospital in town. The University of Texas Health Science Center. I'd recommend it. Good luck in your quest for your child. Trust your instincts and push for what your thinks is best.
