I saw the trailer mentioned and a thumbs up to Encore Westerns who are showing more and more theatrical trailers for the films they show instead of the in-house trailers they've used in the past. I've only seen one version of Sledge, the bland version shown on TV. Many times trailers and lobby cards used cut-scenes which was always a disappointment when you saw the film and asked yourself where's the scene shown in the trailer or pictured in the lobby card. As we all know different versions of these films were shot and released in different countries. There's supposed to be a version of Lawman where instead of riding out of town after the final showdown Lancaster is shot in the back by Sheree North and we've seen alternate versions of Minnesota Clay, The Great Silence and A Minute to Pray a Second to Die, so it's possible a different version of Sledge was released.

I think the widescreen dvd release is the same version as the full screen one airing on Encore Westerns. I never saw it in a theatre.

I've always had a soft spot for this flick, maybe because James Garner (who never had anything good to say about it) is the bad guy for a change. Plus I've always loved the music at the end.
