I got THE MAN FROM OKLAHOMA last week in Berkeley. One of Durado Films' latest releases and I'm enjoying it over a two day period. It's a good looking print, but it's early and I was aware I'd never seen the leading man/sheriff before, so I looked him up on imdb. They list plenty of the characters and actors but I didn't see anyone who fit the sheriff, kind of a tougher looking Giuliano Gemma type with a long face, but without Gemma's charm. The package listed a Rick Horn at the top, but there was no Rick Horn in the cast list on imdb. So I googled OKLAHOMA JOHN, which seems to be the name by which the film is best known, found a couple of obscure reviews, which listed Rick Horn as a Dutch actor named Anton Geesing who made four or five films in the mid-sixties then quit movies. He died in 2010. RANCH OF THE RUTHLESS is the only western he was in. Three different names for the same movie, four if you count the Italian title, IL RANCH DEGLI SPIETATI. So I've contacted imdb and gone through the routine of updating their files. We'll see in a few days if they follow through. Years ago I let them know that Al Mulock was in DAY OF ANGER and they corrected it, so we'll see. Yes, I have too much time on my hands.
