Pete's post does not to me read as a slag. It is a reasoned criticism which is not personal and as such is entirely valid, especially, coming as it does, from a respected, experienced and popular race officer.
This forum is often checked out by lurkers who are also organisers of events and it is useful and hopefully occasionally constructive if sometimes annoying, for them to read the comments of their clientele posted here.
It is also right and proper for those who disagree with an argument to state their disagreement but preferably without disparaging personal asides.

And I would remind users that those who post anonymously have far less credibility than those who attach their names to their posts.

I agree with Pete, if there is a problem with the SI's then shouldn't it be pointed out? I would have thought trying to make the job of the protest committee a bit easier by cutting out... more

He's posting this before the event and I'm sure will also be contacting the committee. If more poeple also do this, then there is a greater chance that there will be change to the SI's. He's taken... more

I think Peter has probably got bored of pointing this out as he alludes to in his opening line "once again disappoints". The Scottish IRCs have disappointed in their race management for a few years... more

I'm sure the intentions with the post were good. After all I'd put good money on some boats not reading the sailing instructions and then thinking wtf when they started racing. Whatever angle you... more

Dear Anonymous, I agree with Pete and knowing Pete as I do, I find it difficult to believe he has anything other than the sport’s best interest at heart. If you want to try the argument of volunteers ... more
