Absolutely brilliant event even although the numbers were down. Great racing in class one and amongst the first 40's. The travelling Scots put up a great performance on and off the race course and did the nation proud! EoS pulled off a 1st in Echo class, Zepher & Elf won Henri Lloyd jkts and Zepher's bowman won the freestyle high dive.
Team Elf led the production boats at the regatta and their 4th in class 1 proved that rum power is faster than carbon power. She even gave class 0 a run for their euros when thirty minutes after the start of the harbour race, the crew of Tonnerre (Ker 46) were looking nervous when they narrowly managed to cross the Elf bus.
A long way to go and an expense for the owners, much appreciated by all. Thanks to Mr EoS, Mr Zepher and Mr n Mrs Elf for making it all possible and proving that clyde boats are still a force to be reckoned with.
Shame to see Elf Too up for sale but at least prospective new owners will be sure of a boat that does what it says on the tin...... First 40!!!
Indeed, awesome event that could only have been bettered with some more sunshine. Great race management and nice to be doing all the various courses. Thanks again to all involved in making it happen... more
Not so good result there for elf yesterday but awesome performance today with a 3 + 1. Looks like top boat in class 1 today. All Clyde boats putting in a good performance so far!
