No. No it won't do at all!

I took the time to copypasta that mess into a word document and double space it so I could read it somewhat properly all the while indenting paragraphs as I ran across them and the answer I've come up with is that it simply doesn't work!

This isn't the terrible news you might think it is. Because that background could be good enough with some proper tweaking.

First off, reploids from the past are so... passe. We've got Axel Cossack who's the last great project of Dr. Cossack (the guy who made Skull Man incidentally). Zeo's a left over from before the first Maverick War (which he served in). Demios was locked in a crate. X was locked in a stasis pod... Zero was locked in a stasis pod...

Do you see where I'm going with this?

I think, and this is just my opinion for all that it matters, it's best to set your reploid firmly in the era, which is to say, a more recent construct. Something grounded firmly in the times of the game if only to differentiate it from the scads of ancient reploids already running around.

The Skull Man angle is cool but comes with some immediate drawbacks. Namely the fact he'll never be able to properly disguise himself EVER. Even with the fashion of 21XX straying towards dramatically billowing hooded cloaks and sweet black trench coats of various fabrics and pocket-numbers.

There's also the combining of magic and reploids. Simply put it's super-effing-expensive. You have to pay for an ether generator or whatever it's called out of your starting 100,000 points and they're super-effing-expensive. Especially given that you'll have wanted to take a few attributes and so you're probably already running at or near a deficit of 'funds' as it were. If the magic thing is really necessary go for it but I'd go the blander (but oh-so-much-cheaper) pure technology route.

So give him a regular plasma buster (or not whatever's your fancy), the bone/titanium daggers, and his Darkness program. That, his menacing appearance, and a few well-chosen attributes are more than enough to get you going in the SG.

Incidentally, how does one have hands and feet 'made for holding many daggers?' Does he have a lot of fingers and toes or were you thinking more of sheathes? I'm thinking sheathes but I could be wrong. Feel free to weigh in.

You know what would be really kinda neat and something we haven't seen in a while?

If your boy were a rogue Maverick. They get down on the theatrical side of things so building a skeletal reploid isn't really far-fetched at all.

The more I think about it the cooler an idea it seems. Make your doctor guy some kind of cyborg who believes utterly in the dominance of the reploid species and thus is willing to assist Sigma's diabolical designs in any way he can. So he creates the Doom Walker line of reploid assassins. They're fast, sneaky, and have so little body-mass they're tough to spot with just your eyes and don't leave enough of a heat or body signature for most scanners. Add to that the shadow generator and voila!

Even better, you could make YOUR guy the doc's insurance plan. He knew dealing with the Mavericks was a risky thing given his humanity so he created one final Doom Walker free of the taint of the Maverick Virus who would activate only upon his death to deliver a little posthumous revenge should he be assassinated or whatever.

Alas the Maverick Virus infected the birthing capsule of your guy and he's found himself awake without knowing his full goal. He knows he's supposed to kill but he's not sure who or what. Guided by that he decides to join a mercenary band. After all, they kill all the time and get paid for it! What could be better than that?

I just re-read all that and it's ...ing BRILLIANT! But all suggestions. You don't have to take any of the advice or backstory offered.

It's no skin off my nose.
