Uncle Reggie Has Died
Mon Mar 25, 2019 10:19am

Uncle Reggie (Martinez) died on Sunday, March 24, at about 5 p.m. Mountain time. He was surrounded by his family when he died.

Uncle Reggie would have been 95 years old on May 15. He was born in 1924.

My dad, Phil, and uncle Reggie grew up together and attended grade and high school together in Mogote (Las Mesitas), Colorado, close to Antonito in the San Luis Valley.

Uncle Reggie is the one who introduced my dad to my mom, Lucy, after dad and Reggie returned to Denver from WWII.

Uncle Reggie and aunt Julia were engaged to each other and Reggie introduced my mom to my dad. Aunt Julia and my mom were the same age and they were always close to one another. My parents got married in January, 1946.

When we were growing up, our family would visit Uncle Reggie’s family quite often. We would go to their home or they would come to our home. In the summertime, our families would go camping in the mountains together.

Once I learn about when uncle Reggie’s funeral will be, I will post it here on the tree.

I spent about 45 minutes today talking to Marilyn, uncle Reggie’s oldest daughter. If you would like her email address or phone number, please send me an email at and I will send it back to you.
