Hi there. It's okay to panic we are human. Fibromyalgia causes overall body pain in a lot of us severe and very debilitating. Can cause a lot of headaches migraines and pain just everywheres everyday. NO ONE has died from it it's not a fatal disease however it does limit a lot of us in the things we used to do or love to do.
I know it looks like things are bad now and being diagnosed myself with it along with Rheumatoid arhtritus and osteo arth. now plus serious back problems it's hard to deal with it or wonder why it happens to us.
Something interesting in what you said about your grandma dying because my grandfather died and 2 months later my last grandpa died. During that time I began to show signs of serious pain beginning throughout my body. Some people think stress and things happening to us that with people who have Fibro. those things are taken out and shown on our bodies thus the serious pain. My brother, oh Lord, whenever he tells me stuff going on with family etc. I swell in the matter of 5-10 minutes. Why? I think it's the Fibro.
I would keep talking with your doctor to manage the pain, keep in touch with all of us because we care for you and each other. We are all going through a rocky road but I pray God use it for something good in the end.
Hang in there sweety. Calm down don't freak out. Do some research online. I'm so sorry to hear of your grandma but I trully think it pays a toll on our bodies.
Take care and keep in touch.

HUGS aimee'
