the middle class is very much an American thing and it will be gone just as soon as the wealthy can get rich on the backs of the poor -- again.

Why? I have no idea, but if an economy depends on consumption, it can't survive if nobody can consume.

It is mostly about huge populations working on jobs which are paid for with taxes. That and "I got mine, screw you."

Very odd.
