Is it as simple as the "haves" protecting themselves from the "have nots?" Is it about evangelism and the End Times? How about Marie's famous, "Let them eat cake?"

It was the goodness of people and their willingness to hope and to have faith in the American Dream that made it different for the USA. Not any more.
