A boycot ONLY has an effect is a LARGE number of people participate such that it has a REAL economic impact on the target of the boycot.

It doesn't matter if a FEW people refuse to participate in something when MILLIONS of others continue to participate.

It is just like when folks advocate a "gas free day" where nobody buys gas on a given day. Since everyone who WOULD have purchased that day either buys the day before or the day after the REAL effect is NOTHING.
