to say "this is what I believe" ... and why, and "this is what I can PROVE" and why..

I don't expect people to jump on the "believe" bandwagon without an explanation and even then the element of faith is something you shouldn't cajole (sp?) and the provable stuff - no issue... it simply is.

This is where the bridge between science and faith needs to work. Let science find the mysteries and unravel them and if we find something about "god" in the mix, ok... if not, no harm no foul.
