The proverbs of Solomon son of David, king of Israel:
for gaining wisdom and instruction; for understanding words of insight; for receiving instruction in prudent behavior,
doing what is right and just and fair; for giving prudence to those who are simple,knowledge and discretion to the young— let the wise listen and add to their learning, and let the discerning get guidance— for understanding proverbs and parables, the sayings and riddles of the wise.

The above is from the Bible. Proverbs 1 the first 6 verses .. As the author states he is David .. and a king .. perhaps he has some wise stuff his readers need to know .. breaking it down he will use:

instruction - giving and receiving it.
what prudent behaviour is
thots on whats right or wrong for the young and restless, the more adept or apt perhaps, and lastly the diligent ones ..

He says he will use parable, riddles, and sayings... hmm .. so I guess its more an instruction or text book coming from his pov... I think we've all done that been there .. daily we try to instruct our readers here .. our coworkers there . and, if uyou have any, your own kids, siblings, peers.

I think its a good thing to teach .. to use whatever means you have to impart good or right to another if they are receptive .. we all could tell stories from our past where we learned a good lesson from something dumb we did or another had shown us .. if you're inclined .. go ahead and write up a short bit we could learn from .. I'm interested .. but I do think proverbs are something more than just instruction and "right" living measures ..
