SproutThere is something of a difference of scale though...Wed Jul 11, 2012 7:10am184.108.40.206IMO the only thing China has that matches the scale of the Pyramids is the Great Wall... the tombs and history destoryed in Afghanistan, Mali, Sudan, etc... are all on a FAR smaller scale and far LESS of tourism value than the pyramids.
I personally suspect that you are correct and that the world would MOST LIKELY simply sit back and do nothing...
But it remains an interesting ethical question. Do the Egyptians (or some subset of them) have a right to destroy that historical site? Does the rest of the world have some right to prevent them from doing so?
