SUPPOSED to be one process. It is only a fantasy that tries to separate the two...

If you are VISITING a nation, you are not immigrating, and therefore have no reason to seek citizenship.

But if you are MOVING to a nation, you are immigrating and SHOULD be integrating into that new society on the path to citizenship.

IMO it is only a totally self-absorbed mindset that says a person should be able to move and live wherever they want in the world, have ZERO obligation to integrate into their new society, and that their new society has ZERO authority to any say in the matter.

No, according to the conservative philosophy of Constitutional interpretation, the federal gov't though its authority over the naturalization process gets to establish policy as to who may or may not enter our country on the path to citizenship. And under commerce authority may manage things such as work visa's...

To try and force a separation of the concepts of immigration and naturalization is not rational.
