It is inevitable. The internal combustion engine is really not a very efficient way of converting chemical energy into movement. It works, and as long as we have relatively cheap fuel sources, it will doubtless remain king.

But as electrical storage technology continues to improve, and the cost of petrochemical fuels continues to rise, the pure electric WILL ultimately be the car of the future.

It certainly isn't in the immediate future, but there WILL come a time when an electric vehicle will have the same range as an internal combustion powered vehicle.

And when electrical storage capacity reaches that point? Look out. Because once the storage problem is beaten, electric performance will come into its own.
