If hominids had gotten into the water, whether on purpose or by accident, anywhere along the east coast of Asia, the North Pacific ocean current would likely have delivered them to the west coast of America, dead or alive. It took only 280 days for debris from the 2011 Japanese Tsunami to make landfall in America. IMO given nearly two million years many early hominids would have survived the trip to America, whether on purpose or by accident, even if there were no land bridge.
