Most Of That Is Simply Not True...

Roughly 20 million Americans didn't have Health Insurance because they couldn't afford it.

The number was much higher. Almost twice as much, if I remember correctly.

Instead of creating a simple plan to cover those people, they created a 2,000+ page Bill that STILL isn't fully understood, and impacted all of the other Americans who DID have Health Insurance.

There are reasons why the plan is structured as it is. Democrats had a single payer system in mind, but in order to accommodate Republicans, they agreed to work with the insurance industry. This caused some rather inventive approaches to be needed.

And they had to lie to the "stupid American voters" to get it passed.

Boy, you get so much mileage out of just a few meaningless quotes. The truth of the matter was that the ACA was debated for many months. It was dissected and discussed in depth over and over again. If there were stupid voters out there who didn't know what was involved, I suspect I know where they were getting their news.

And they'll spend $1,500,000,000,000 in ten years to do it. And they created a plan that was bound to fail, and was failing.

The ACA has been less expensive than originally estimated. If Republicans weren't actively sabotaging it, it wouldn't be in any trouble. It certainly isn't imploding. It could be improved,
certainly. We could get to that single payer system.

And now the GOP has to step in and try to make Chicken Salad out the Democrats' Chicken Sh*t.

The GOP desperately wants to scuttle the ACA to damage Obama's legacy. And to stop (and retroactively reimburse) the taxes paid by the rich to support the ACA. As Americans have heard what it is they are trying to do, they have been letting the Republicans know that they aren't stupid. The measures in the House and Senate versions of the GOP plan aren't about fixing the real issues with the ACA or further improving our health care system. The measures in those bills are all about moving more money to the rich.

They aren't going to get away with it.
