Billions of people think that the bible "tells them what to do".

But if they actually read it, they would see that the bible "tells them" how to own people as property.

How badly you can beat your slaves (as hard as you want as long as they don't die right away).

Their holy book tells them to stone a stubborn and rebellious son.

Their holy book tells them that homosexuals should die.

Their bible tells them that all kinds of "sins" warrant the death penalty.

Of course, they don't believe ANY OF THAT, much less DO ANY OF THAT, because their INNATE sense of what is right and what is wrong tells them that it is wrong to OWN PEOPLE AS PROPERTY, and it is wrong to KILL PEOPLE for being stubborn or rebellious to your parents, or for being homosexual, or any other of numerous "sins".

They get their sense of right and wrong -- their morality -- from the same innate sense of right and wrong that Atheists use.

And NOT from ancient texts.
