We Need...

...to start viewing this as a global issue of life and death. For example, we could generate enough power to meet global needs and do it ALL via renewable sources. Not using today's systems, providers, corporations, etc. But we have the technology and the means to do it. We should take power off the list of things that humans drive profit from and we should create a new paradigm for how we create and distribute power.

I already know what you're going to say. "The sky is falling! Economic impact! The horror!"

I don't think so. We'd have tons of jobs to transition us. We'd end up with more disposable income, not paying for power. We'd make huge strides toward reversing the conditions causing global warming.

But actions like these need to be global. They need to put humanity first and nations a distant second. They require real, ethical leadership.
