I Would Like To Think...

...that an ascendant AI unburdened by emotion would find the unnecessary destruction of life wasteful, and therefore wouldn't go out of its way to destroy us. Emotions only help us, I think, as I believe that intelligence/power increases the chance for altruism. As such, I would think that before it left us behind to pursue AI enlightenment, it would do what it could for us.

I would also like to think that this would include balancing the scales to the detriment of the few who have been hoarding resources and power from the many.

But maybe I'm projecting onto our future AI overlords.
