I don't think it will for self-driving cars.

When someone pays for a taxi, or Uber, or Lyft, about 75% of the money goes to pay the driver. Self driving cars would be much cheaper for the customer, but they will put most drivers out of work. They will reduce the amount of work done by humans. They will need some maintenance, but it won't be enough to replace all the jobs they eliminated. A self driving car that works 10 hours a day probably needs less than 1 hour a day of maintenance.
