"Charges were withdrawn against Dr. Hossain Banadaki Danesh in exchange for Danesh's immediate resignation and his "written undertaking not to reapply for another licence to practice medicine in Ontario or to apply to practice medicine anywhere else, at any time."

It sounds like there wasn't a pretty good case against him. No conviction does not mean innocence, jb. It simply means that the state has not proved its case, for whatever reason. The reason in this particular case is obvious.

As far as Birkland's innocent or guilt is concerned, I have no idea whether he is one or the other or something inbetween.

But all of this points to the idea that no Baha'i is guilty of 'evil' as highly, highly questionable. It is unimaginable that with a membership of something like 5-7 million, coupled with human nature being what it is, that there isn't one member here or there that is up to no good within the Baha'i community.

Humans in the past have gotten the crazy idea that no member of their group is capable of evil. That's nonsense. The contrary has proven time and time again. Ignoring it and claiming otherwise just adds to the problem and enables the guilty.
