Criticism of beliefs
Wed Sep 12, 2018 8:03am

is not the same as criticism of people... though I can see how some may take it that way, especially when arguments escalate into personal attacks.

Some hold their personal beliefs and convictions very strongly or dearly, so naturally they might take any criticisms of such personally. However, everyone has beliefs that others do not ascribe to, so there will always be disagreements on what beliefs are right or wrong.

If you want the freedom to criticize the beliefs of others, you should be able to take criticism of your own beliefs. Otherwise, there can be no discussion. At least not logical or civil discussion.
