Kim:

"Everyone who thinks anything about "Manetho" that is positive, is of the opinion that Josephus had access to a more detailed and more original text than the others."

What I said to Cullom about people who have not made an extensive study of Manetho pontificating applies to you, as well. If you find that an "aggressive" stance on my part, then so be it. I couldn't care less. Josephus does not have the most accurate version of Manetho, so no true expert would hold that opinion. That honor actually goes to Theophilus. One could conclude that either Theophilus had access to a truer copy of Manetho's history--or that he had a better copy of Joseph than the ones known to us.

"But it is STILL WRONG, and Josephus treats the periods as consecutive too. So there is no statement in his (Josephus') copy that reigns are coterminous, or overlapped, or whatever else you or others think may be going on."

Most of the time, Manetho wrote "then" and "then". Much more rarely "after him". "Then" does not necessarily indicate a consecutive succession. It merely means "then".
I have explained it all in my book. I am not going to explain further here, although there is more to say, of course. I don't owe you a full explanation here for free just because you fail to see what was there or understand all the ramifications.

And don't blame your anger issues on me. I addressed you politely until you began to attack me gratuitously, undermine my knowledge, etc., as you invariably do. If you don't deem Manetho as being of any importance, why are you so angry, even shouting "NOT" virtually. I have spent years studying the writings of the ancient historians. If you are such an expert on Manetho, then write your own book! Meanwhile, your "NOT" and "STILL WRONG" carry no weight whatsoever with me.

Marianne If you don't understand what I write, ask me to explain it to you. That's not being patronising, I often have to do the same. But don't sneer at something you do not understand, just say you ... more

Hello Marianne You wrote "Why did I need some specific teacher?" So you are claiming, as I thought, superior insight based on autodidactism. That is not necessarily a bad thing, but if you can do it, ... more

I should clarify one thing, however. Even though version of Theophilus of the kinglist of Dynasty 18 is more correct than that of Josephus in some respects, he did not understand that there were some ... more
