"What I said to Cullom ..."

Hello Marianne

You wrote

"Why did I need some specific teacher?"
So you are claiming, as I thought, superior insight based on autodidactism. That is not necessarily a bad thing, but if you can do it, why not others? You seem to refuse to accept that anyone can be your equal (not your superior!).

"No, you only said "more accurate""
Clearly you did not read what I wrote, so why are you arguing? Once again I have written it twice, and you still won't accept that you have taken something I did not say.

"Theophilus did not omit the things you claim. The one fragment from him in Waddell's book is replete with lacunae"
And the lacuna I am referring to omits the kings I specified, jumping from an unnamed daughter of Oros / Horos to "Mercheres". There is no lacuna in the manuscript itself (all copies). Waddell's edition simply substitutes from Josephus the missing names and adjusts "Mercheres", but there is no textual basis for this adjustment apart from the omission of the name of the daughter of (H)oros.

"Not that it matters what you said"
This is what I mean. That is simple libel, if you want to take it that way, and you certainly have in the past.

"This is the last time I am replying to you about Manetho"
Good. But you have yet to reply, at all, on how 30 years 10 months can equate to year 30, 10th month.

"But you didn't write a book! "
And you know this because...?

"Your libeling me as having no expertise ..."
Show me where this is the case. I have never libelled you in that respect. I have, for example, the highest possible respect for your knowledge of the hairstyles and headdresses of the New Kingdom. I have no respect for your arithmetic skills (see above) but that is a different matter. But you have certainly libelled me, over, and over, and over, including at least twice in the very post I am replying to,

"since you have often claimed to be my senior"
Again, never. Show me such a claim and I will happily withdraw it, in capitals if you like.

"I will be 70 this month."
Congratulations, and happy birthday for then (sincerely meant, but I don't suppose you will take it as that).

I have not said the things you imagined, and your repeated "quoting" of things I have not said (and I checked but you did not) shows you are construing anything I say as some sort of personal attack. It isn't. It really isn't. If I am making a personal attack it will be very, very clear, not something you will have to read between the lines to get.

Regards again
