I haven't had time to think about the chronological aspect but this statement is not correct. What about the Speos Artemidos inscription of Hatshept, which mention the Aamu being expelled from Avaris? And also the account of Ahmose son of Abana regarding Ahmose I and the Hyksos? I grant that the stela of Setnakht is the most dramatic.

"Aamu being expelled from Avaris?" -- Thank you for the accuracy with Aamu, instead of using the normally translated and vague term Asiatics. "Aamu" kind of sounds like Amorites to me. That's my bet... more
