The Speos indicates the inhabitants of Avaris were banished. I doubt it means to a different location within Egypt, itself. From the tomb of Ahmose son of Abana it also says the people were driven out and went to a place called Sharuhen, which was then besieged. Where Sharuhen was is anybody's guess, but it is not among the known Delta toponyms.
