Hi Marianne
You said that the inscription in the tomb of Ahmose son of Abana tells how, after the capture of Avaris, "the people were driven out and went to a place called Sharuhen". This is not correct. The inscription is not concerned with overall outcomes but with the deeds of Ahmose himself. It does not mention people being driven from Avaris nor that any people went to Sharuhen, only that after the capture of Avaris the next campaign Ahmose went on was the three year seige of Sharuhen. Sharuhen was outside Egypt as Ahmose mentions that after Pharaoh Ahmose captured Sharuhen he (returned) from slaying the Asiatic nomads.
