In my opinion,---You were correct to place the reign of Merneptah in 1207BCE. Doing so would be, I think, in the year of the death of Amuwanda III, 2685AM, 1207BCE, and ac. Suppilluma III, and 31st year of the 4th Judge of Israel,---Deborah.That was 237yrs after Exodus: 2448AM, 1444BCE.

One other 'synchronization' would be: 2685AM, 1207BCE, for the 27th year of the Assyrian King Tukulti-ninurta.

And, just one year earlier, in 2684AM, 1208BCE, would be the year 5 of Merneptah, when the 'stela' was erected that mentioned "Israel".
