Marianne.

Read the 4th line of the first book of Joshua.

"From the wilderness and this Lebanon even unto the great river, the river Euphrates, all the land of the Hittites, and unto the great sea toward the going down of the sun, shall be your coast."

The only time the land from the Lebanon to the Euphrates was under Hittite control was about 150 years after Thutmosis III.

We cannot entertain re-writing history just to make sense of the Bible.
Whoever wrote Joshua lived after 1300 BCE, after Suppiluliuma I conquered Mitanni, only then did the Hittites control all the land from the Orontes to the Euphrates.

Akhuwa/Huwe are late terms for what we know today as Cilicia. During the Hittite empire period Cilicia was known as Kizzuwadna.
Look at the Hittite alliance at Kadesh in 1275, Kizzuwadna is listed. So we can see the names Akhuwa/Huwe (Hivite) are even later than 1275 BCE.
(The earliest mention of Akhuwa/Huwe may be Merneptah when he lists "Ekwesh" as an enemy)

We are a long way from Thutmosis III/Amenhotep II.

Just prior to the establishment of these hill-country Israelite settlements, the entire land was devastated, cities and towns burned to the ground. This destruction layer is firmly dated the the end of the Late Bronze, roughly 1200-1175 BCE.
A long, long time after Thutmosis III.

Destruction layers associated with the campaigns of Thutmosis III are identified in deeper, much earlier strata.
And, as I mentioned in a previous post, the first layer of Mt Ebal is dated by a scarab of Ramesses II.
This indicates we are dealing with the emergence of Israel soon after the beginning of the reign of Ramesses II.

Only Ramesses III claims to have devastated the Levant (Djahi), and only the destruction layers associated with his reign immediately precede the Israelite settlements.

Here, I agree with Anonymous,---AND: "The Two Hornet's" timeline would fit well with Exodus in 2448, 1313CJ/BCE, (Jewish) + 131yrs = 1444BCE ('Actual') in the 35th Year of Thutmose III, just 14yrs... more
