Tory:

"R1b1a2 cannot possibly be the Y-DNA of Amenhotep IV, III, and the rest of the male line back to the Theban dynasty founder. This Y-haplogroup is virtually non-existent in Egypt and everywhere else in Africa. It is a European haplogroup and if that is Tut's Y-DNA haplogroup, not saying it is, but if it is then his father was almost certainly the Hittite prince."

I've found there's not too much that's impossible when it comes to DNA. But let's put the R1 group issue aside. Tutankhamun, as I said before, had only one grandfather and
that was Amunhotep III. That's what the autosomal DNA picture indicates. That's something different from y-DNA and its haplogroups. How do you get a Hittite prince invoved there?

You know, though, I think the 18th Dynasty royals have some unknown story connected to their DNA and, if someone had time and the right program, they might be able to figure out what the story was. I ... more
