Yes, this is a searchable site and in fact this topic has been discussed many times before. I know because I entered the phrase "Israelite exodus from Egypt" into the forum's search box and found many posts in which the Israelite exodus was discussed. Entering the names of the posters returned a forum record of a vigorous debate about the biblical account of the Israelites. Scanning through some of those old posts reveals that problems with the biblical record that were acknowledged to exist could be resolved in large measure by the application of data and sound reasoning. That, it seems to me, is what any rigorous researcher would do in a study of some topic.

I'll have to look into these old posts to see if the issues regarding biblical history and chronology that were raised recently have already been discussed and resolved there. It may be that recent objections to incorporating what historical data the Bible may preserve are based more on religion/dogma than on rational thought--especially so, seeing that those old posts prove the problems of error and inconsistency within the biblical account are not insurmountable with a little effort.

And from what little I saw of them I can say those old posts represent a considerable amount of effort preserved in this forum's archive. So why throw out work that has already been done? Shouldn't we make use of what's already been researched, debated, and vetted? Or do some simply enjoy trying to reinvent the wheel? If we all want to get at the truth, then let's not spin our wheels debating to conclusion and then dismissing whatever that conclusion is so we can debate some more. That is such a waste.
