"Sothic dates. Senuseret II or III. Most go with III ca. 1866 BC. The other date is Amenhotep I, ca. 1550 BC. Radiocarbon dates, I think done after Rohl proposed his theories simply confirm the conventional chronology."

If you are going to talk Sothic dating, Dynasty 12 has to end in 1786 BCE. You should know what Sir Alan Gardiner said about abandoning that firm anchor. It comes from the reign of Senusret III. As to the Sothic concordances from Dynasty 18, I have examined and tested them from every angle and they have proved correct. There's an entire chapter with explanations in my book, "Manetho Demystified", now in a third edition as the work continues and other matters clarified. The High Chronology is upheld by everything. Amenhotep I--the concordance from his reign has been criticized but the next one, from the reign of Thutmose III by default, corroborates it. Amenhotep I began his reign in 1540 BCE and we know exactly how long he sat on the throne--20 years and 7 months, asserted by Manetho and proved by a contemporary text.

As for those Canaanite cities--Jericho was a very old settlement with several strata but the graves near the city that were excavated and had Egyptian scarabs among the grave goods--had none past the reign of Amenhotep III.
