"You haven't the least idea what you're talking about. So maybe "Ignoramus" is better handle for you than "Anonymous". I am primarily interested in Manetho. He has been the difficult subject of my research for many years and I am happy to say I have been able to make the first real progress with his writings, as handed down by those "useless" [as you deem them] ancient historians and early church fathers . Egyptians were their sources or they wouldn't have been able to make epitomes of anything. That should be obvious enough. Manetho was a real historian, an Egyptologist, actually. There are errors in his kinglist [18th Dynasty] as handed down but so much more correct there than anyone has previously noticed. That is because those who have written about him were primarily Classicists and did not have enough information regarding the ancient Egyptian primary sources. You can stick your patronizing advice in the garbage. You're not in the field. You can't fool me."

Well, you see what I mean about the ad hominem stuff? But here is one question for you, Marianne: Was the Hyksos regime an Egyptian one? If not, then why would we expect the Egyptians to have kept records of Hyksos activities? The Egyptians wrote of their own activities with respect to the Hyksos. The Egyptians did not have access to (or did not preserve) the Hyksos archives.
