I am an European breeder and I am quite concerned hearing about the sales of breeding dogs to a corporation. No matter how good their vision sounds, from what I understand, the therapy dogs will be placed in care centers, where they will be working (yes-WORKING) all day, without having their home, and they will have to serve at least several people. I would never like a life like this for one of my puppies. I talked about therapy, and other working dogs with my dog trainer, and she claims that dogs can work up to 4 hours daily and being an assistance dog for one person is very hard for a dog. I have also great concerns about puppies that will not fit into their program? All of this sounds like a good business opportunity without really taking care of the welfare of the dogs. Also, the person being the CEO ad the main coordinator of this project is still only an employee at this big corporation and he might be one day be replaced by someone who will change the vision of the corporation. And what will happen then with all breeding dogs?
